Construction Plan

Freedom Transit is a nationwide network consisting of a top level high-speed network connecting metro-areas, a second level low-speed metro-area grid covering metropolitan areas, and it also has a separate heavy haul freight network. Total construction costs well over $3 Trillion, way too expensive to do all at once.
Instead, we will identify the highest traffic volume interstates between city pairs and build the high-speed roadways along them first. Freedom Transit is a drive-in, drive-out high speed, high volume mass transit system. Usage of the new system will grow quickly as it is easy and fast to drive into a station, rent a Freedom Transit enabled electric car and ride to the exit station, and then manually drive on to the final destination. The cost of the trip is for the vehicle, so the more people in the vehicle the lower the cost per person. Travel cost will be low, travel time will be quick, resulting is high volume usage. That usage will pay for construction quickly, pay continuing operating cost, and eventually produce large profits.
The profits can then be used to build more automated roadways, vehicles, and stations. Eventually, the nationwide network will be built. Electric cars will then be able to travel coast to coast without stopping to recharge. At that point, electric cars will be more useful than fuel based cars. Sales of electric cars will replace fuel based cars and owners will now use their own vehicles on Freedom Transit and save the cost of renting a vehicle, making a trip even less expensive.
Freedom Transit will eventually cover the entire country generating 100s of gigawatts of solar power, and creating the largest business volume revenue stream ever – over $1 trillion annually in the U.S. alone.
